COVID-19 Updates: Animal Food Bank Delivery

Central Missouri Humane Society recognizes the negative impact that COVID-19 has had on many families, and we want to help support you during this difficult time. If this crisis is preventing you from getting the supplies you need to care for your animals, you may come to the shelter seven days per week during the hours of 10am to 1 pm to pick-up pet food. Please call the shelter when you arrive or ring the doorbell at the front door. Anyone needing assistance caring for their animals may take advantage of this program; there are no income or residency restrictions. If you are unable to come to the shelter to pick-up pet food, please use the form below to request that pet supplies be delivered to your home.

Pet food and/or supplies available through this program are dependent on donations, and there is no guarantee that we will have a particular food brand or item available. Our team is working hard to attain a variety of supplies to help our community in every way possible, and we will do our best to match you with items to fulfill your request!

To ensure that we can accommodate as many requests for assistance as possible, please only use the form below if you live in Columbia city limits and need pet food delivered to your home. If you are able to come to the shelter or live outside of Columbia, please pick-up food 10 am to 1 pm at the shelter.

Animal Food Bank Program

The purpose of our Animal Food Bank Program is to help Boone County pet owners that are facing economic hardships. Our goal is to distribute our donated items so that families will not have to give up their pet simply because they cannot afford to feed them. While using our food bank program, you will not be allowed to adopt an animal from our shelter and you will be disqualified if you add any other pets from any other sources. Due to this program being dependent on donations, we do have to limit the program’s assistance to a maximum of four pets per household.

Food bank recipients MUST re-apply in person at the shelter every 6 months to continue receiving pet food.
