COVID-19 Updates: Animal Food Bank Delivery
We are temporarily offering pet food delivery to high risk individuals that live in Columbia, MO city limits. If you feel that you are more susceptible to contracting or spreading COVID-19, please use the link below to enter your request. This is open to anyone in Columbia regardless of income.
As always, our food bank is stocked entirely by donations.
Animal Food Bank Program
The purpose of our Animal Food Bank Program is to help Boone County pet owners that are facing economic hardships. Our goal is to distribute our donated items so that families will not have to give up their pet simply because they cannot afford to feed them. While using our food bank program, you will not be allowed to adopt an animal from our shelter and you will be disqualified if you add any other pets from any other sources. Due to this program being dependent on donations, we do have to limit the program’s assistance to a maximum of four pets per household.
Food bank recipients MUST re-apply in person at the shelter every 6 months to continue receiving pet food.
- Must be a resident of Boone County.
- Must have a valid Missouri driver's license or other legal form of identifications.
- Must have proof of low income status (food stamp card, payroll stub, social security card, etc.).
- Must have proof that the animal has been spayed or neutered. If your pet has not been altered, call us at 573.443.7387 to inquire about vouchers for free spay/neuter.
Food is available on Wednesdays and Saturdays between 8 - 11AM. You may come in once a month to receive food assistance.
